TC Jester Intersection Improvements

Roadway Improvements

  • The TC Jester project consisted of reconstructing the roadway surface, upsizing, and realigning the underground utilities to be easier to access and maintain. The wastewater utility line was reconfigured to cross the intersection at close to 90 degrees as opposed to the near 45 degree it was at due to previous road realignment. The wastewater utility line was left in place and filled with flowable fill while a new line was installed running near the north ROW. There were places where the design called for reusing some sanitary manholes and we had to design the proposed to fit into the existing flowlines. This caused some situations where it was not feasible to maintain access to the customers so temporary pump bypasses were installed and rerouted to the nearest downstream manhole. Construction was to be open-cut with minimal interruptions to the traffic during construction phasing. The upsizing of the wastewater utility to 30 inches will greatly benefit the community and serve for many years to come as population growth continues to skyrocket in the region.
