FM723 H&H Study, Fort Bend County

AEL was contracted by TxDOT to provide professional engineering services that consisted of conducting a hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) study for widening the existing FM723 2-lane corridor to a 4-lane divided roadway with left turn lanes. The drainage study addressed impact to the existing areas and improved conveyance by adding roadside ditches, storm sewer and increasing the capacity of the cross culverts to provide for updated Atlas 14 100 storm events. The study also addressed improving in-line mitigation. Majed and Juan utilized their knowledge of GIS and H&H softwares (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY8 and SWMM) and utilized the SCS and rational methods to analyze proposed roadway impact. Agha Engineering LLC also designed 20 roadway cross culverts and 3 bridge class culvert crossings.
